Here is a very basic tip to gain efficiency and optimize self-organisation while working on your laptop.
𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧!
This applies first to your Desktop, like in the picture attached, where there are dozens (hundreds?) of useless random icons. This is super problematic:
⚠️ It creates stress as you always have the impression that your workspace is in disorder, that the information is lost (and it may very well be the case)
⚠️ It creates confusion as you don't know where to look at, you lose a few seconds (or sometimes minutes) each time you are looking to access a document or open an app.
⚠️ Even your computer may run slower as you may have many unused apps open and running.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡, 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲:
✌️ You only have under your eyes the apps you need to open quickly and frequently.
✌️ It is a peaceful and safe virtual space, to enable focus and good execution.
✌️ You don't have the impression of being submerged by information and stuff to sort.
People who have a desktop looking like the first pic generally tend to have 149 tabs opened simultaneously on their internet browser. Be aware that it can slow significantly your browser + cause the same kind of problems as a messy desktop.
Our humble advice: if you recognize yourself in the first picture, take advantage of the summer to clean it all. The payoff will be huge.
